Reykjavík!.

Halló human on the inter-net.

Reykjavík! is an Icelandic band that is not Sigur Rós, and is not from Reykjavík.

It is from Ísafjörður. (Many good people and bands who are not Sigur Rós are from there, and it also has a festival with loud music that you have probably never heard about.)

The people in Reykjavík! make loud rokk músík with their hands and brains, and they also like to use many exclamation marks and capital letters to make sure that everyone hears them and understands what they say.

They also like to look angry, and many people think they look scary. But do not worry, they are friendly people who have never beaten up any hippís or krútts. In fact, many of their best friends are krútts.

Even though some of the people in Reykjavík! have long hairs and sometimes shake them very much, they really just like to drink sherrý and talk about someone called Heidegger and play in artí festivals.

And if you are lost and looking for someone to show you the way to the next whiskey bar, they would always help you. That is how friendly the people in Reykjavík! are.

GusGus.

Halló. I have noticed that many bands with humans in them (not just Icelandic bands that are not Sigur Rós) do not become very old. Often, they have something that they call an “artý stick difference”, and sometimes the girlfriend of the human who drums says that she “cannot take this shit anymore” and that the drumming human must “get a real job”.

But GusGus, an Icelandic band that is not Sigur Rós, is not like this.

GusGus is already a very old band. (Maybe this is because it does not have a human drummer.) In fact, it is almost as old as the oldest Icelandic band that is not Sigur Rós.

Here is a moving picture of GusGus in a new building that my people just built to listen to loud músík in.

As you can see with your eyes, the people in GusGus make good songs with machines that have blinking lights, with many words sung by clever humans with long hairs.

They have just made a new albúm for you to listen to with your ears, and dance to with your feet, and think about with your brain.

It is called “Icelandic Arabian Horse”, and the people who help me with this inter-net are very excited about it, and really think that you should tell all your friends about it. (They are very seríous about this.)

Even though there is no human drummer in GusGus, there have been many humans in it (and even one president). They just have not all been in it at the same time. Maybe I will tell you more about them later in this “blog”.

Sinfóníu-hljómsveit Íslands.

Sinfóníuhljómsveit Íslands is a very big Icelandic band that is not Sigur Rós.

It has the longest name of all Icelandic bands, and it also has the most people in it, except for Bemmi Hemm Hemm, which has three hundred. (It is true.)

Sinfóníuhljómsveit Íslands is very old. (It is even older than a very old Icelandic band that is not Sigur Rós, called Gus Gus.) It was started a long time ago, by optimistic humans who thought it would be a good idea for my people to listen to good music with many notes in it.

But even though it is a very old band, Sinfóníuhljómsveit Íslands can make a lot of noise. If it wants to, it can make more noise than three human pönk bands playing together. (Maybe you did not know this.)

Many important humans in other countries, who know that they are talking about, have said it is a very good band. Many famous humans have played with it, some of them have even been from galaxies far, far away. It also has many friends in other Icelandic bands, and sometimes it plays good, hand-made music with them.

For a long time Sinfóníuhljómsveit Íslands lived in an old building, but now it has a splunku-new one. It played there for the first time yesterday, and many of my people were very happy about that. The house is called Harpa, and you can go there one day, when you visit me in a flying machine.
